Adventure Queens Privacy Policy

Adventure Queens is a not for profit organisation that aims to smash down barriers that stop women, including trans women, from being active outdoors, enabling them to reap the immense physical and mental health benefits of physical activity and time in nature. Adventure Queens is committed to ensuring the safety, welfare, and dignity of all participants, staff, and volunteers in their outdoor pursuits. 

Adventure Queens has three pillars of activity:

    • Our community that brings together women across the country through online fora and in-person meet ups
    • Our Adventure Queen Grants, which support women to go on their first big adventure through cash, kit and mentoring support.
    • Our projects that support marginalised groups of women who may face additional barriers to getting outdoors. 

The Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following types of personal data:

    • Name, contact details, and address
    • Emergency contact information
    • Medical details relevant to outdoor activities
    • Membership details
    • Payment information (if applicable for donations or event fees)
    • Photographs and videos from events (with consent)
    • Website usage data
    • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion data  (such as ethnicity, religion, age)

How We Use Your Information 

We use your information to:

    • Manage membership records and event participation
    • Communicate with members and supporters
    • Process payments and donations
    • Tracking our ED&I targets

Purpose & Scope

This policy sets out our privacy practices and explains how we handle the information we collect when you visit and use our sites, services, products, and content (“Services”).

How we use your email address: Marketing emails

    • By signing up to the email list, you’ve opted in to receive emails from Adventure Queens containing information, tips and advice about and relating to outdoor adventures. We may send you information about offers or partnerships with third parties via email.

    • These emails will come directly from Adventure Queens. We will never share your personal information with these third parties.

    • If you would like to opt out of these emails you can do so by clicking the unsubscribe link on any marketing email.

Disclosure of your personal information:

    • Other than the use of third party hosting services (see below) we do not and will not share your information outside Adventure Queens unless we are compelled to by law.

    • We will inform you if we’re asked to share your information with law authorities.

    • We will never sell your personal information.

    • If Adventure Queens is merged or acquired by another company, we’ll inform you if there are any changes to the privacy policy.

How we store your information

    • Adventure Queens uses third-party vendors and hosting partners for hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology we need to make Adventure Queens run.

Changes to this Policy

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure compliance with any legal or procedural updates. We’ll notify you about significant changes to this policy.
