New year, new ideas

It’s the new year (say what!?) and although we’re generally not ones for resolutions at AQ HQ, we are MOST definitely ones for adventure ideas and inspiration! So to help kick off 2018, here are some adventure, and more specific activity themed, festivals you can catch around the UK, covering everything from films to talks and skills workshops.

Adventure Travel Show

What: The UK’s only event dedicated to travel experiences off the beaten track, with talks, seminars, skills sessions, travel providers.

What: Not purely adventure but described as a must-attend event for any discerning travellers. So if keen for adventures beyond the UK, you’re likely to leave with ideas on new places to explore and tips on destinations off the beaten track.

Banff Mountain Film Festival

What: Says what it does on the tin – best new films from the world’s most prestigious mountain film festival. There are two different programmes – Red and Blue – so check them out before you buy tickets… or go to both!

Aviemore Adventure Festival

What: Annual festival for all outdoor enthusiasts, celebrating the best of Outdoor Sport & Adventure culture. The programme includes a bunch of outdoor activities, gear testing events, workshops, film screenings and talks.

Cycling Touring Festival

What: A weekend of talks, workshops, drop-in sessions, practical advice, planning about all things bicycle touring. It’s the place to come for anyone planning, thinking about or dreaming of a bike trip.
